Jul 04, 2019 at 04:03 pm by Bryan Barrett

(MURFREESBORO) "Celebration Under The Stars" created a fun 4th in the 'Boro. The ROCK THE POOL PARTY packed SportsCom's 'Boro Beach 10:00AM to 4:30PM.

Then from 5:00PM to 8:30PM the adjoining McKnight Park offers family games, inflatables, food trucks, live music and fireworks around 8:30PM on Thursday evening, July 4, 2019.

The Murfreesboro's Fire Rescue and Police departments are coordinating safety measures for those in the community who will be celebrating.

Independence Day will see increased residential patrols by the Murfreesboro Police Department, as well as increased traffic enforcement through the holiday.

Officers are strictly enforcing speeding, seat belt, DUI, and other traffic related laws as well as city fireworks regulations.

Murfreesboro Police Chief Michael Bowen said, "We encourage residents to practice safety this Fourth of July, and abide by the City's fireworks ordinances."

And remember, the new law prohibiting hand-held cell phones in a moving vehicle went into effect July 1, 2019 here in Tennessee.
