State Senator Dawn White (R-Murfreesboro) and Representative Tim Rudd (R-Murfreesboro) announced today that the city of Eagleville will receive a $408,184 grant from the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) for downtown revitalization.

The Transportation Alternatives Grant will fund reconstruction of sidewalks along SR-16 (Main Street). The project also includes ADA compliance, pedestrian signals, landscaping, pedestrian lighting and striping.

"I am very pleased that Eagleville was awarded this competitive grant and congratulate our local officials for their work in securing it," said Sen. White. "Eagleville's unique downtown district and historic charm should be preserved for generations to come. This program will help in these revitalization efforts and in turn, serves as an economic development tool for this community."

"This is great news for Eagleville," added Rep. Rudd. "These improvements are not only good for our citizens to enjoy, but helps invite new citizens and industry to our community. We appreciate the hard work from our local officials in submitting the grant application, as well as the favorable action from the Tennessee Department of Transportation in awarding it."

The Transportation Alternatives Grant Program began providing funds to local governments in 1991.
