The robbery that was reported outside a Long John Silver’s restaurant on Memorial Boulevard this past Monday was a hoax… that news according to the Murfreesboro Police Department. Restaurant employee Erica Helton allegedly conspired with employee Charles Pointer to stage the robbery that was reported on March 5th. The robbery was allegedly staged so that they could take the money that was intended for deposit. Helton claimed the robbery occurred in the parking lot as she was getting into her car to drive to the bank. You may recall police were looking for a black male wearing a skull cap after the robbery was reported, that suspect never existed. 25-Year old Erica Helton was charged with filing a false police report, theft and criminal conspiracy. 38-year Charles Pointer was charged with theft and criminal conspiracy. The two will appear in court on April 12th.
