The Smyrna Police Department had a hand in the seizure of $1.3-million, 200-pounds of marijuana and 20-firearms in Middle Tennessee. In addition to the Smyrna Police Department helping to recover the goods, the 20th Judicial District Drug Task Force, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Maury County Sheriff's Office, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and the Nashville District Attorney's Office all had a hand in making an arrest that started with a traffic stop. The drugs and the money were evidently headed to Middle Tennessee from Alabama. Those arrested face felony possession of marijuana charges.
