It is now official, Murfreesboro has a new Vice Mayor. Ron Washington has taken the reins from former vice mayor Chris Bratcher. Washington received the nomination from councilwoman Madelyn Scales Harris. Washington is now the longest serving councilman currently on the council, a title that Chris Bratcher held prior to not getting reelected this past election. 

The mayor and the vice mayor are guest on the WGNS Action Line the second Wednesday of every month. During the program, listeners can call in to address their concerns for the city. The show airs at 8:10am.
