The Murfreesboro Police Department, in cooperation with the Governors Highway Safety Office (GHSO) and local law enforcement agencies, will participate in the summer 2012 “Click It or Ticket” campaign. A special emphasis in traffic enforcement will be placed on seatbelt and child restraint compliance. The special enforcement will run from May 21, 2012 through June 3, 2012. Officers will be watching closely for seatbelt usage as well as all traffic violations such as speeding, red light violations, following too close, and driving under the influence. Officers will also be enforcing noise laws concerning loud music and exhausts.

Chief of Police Glenn Chrisman stated: “While we have seen a significant decrease in the number of traffic fatalities on Murfreesboro streets, we want to see that number continue to fall until there are no traffic related deaths. Please keep you and your family safe by buckling up and following the rules of the road.”
