Domestic arguments are often the most dangerous for police officers as well as victims. Murfreesboro Police have been called to an increasing number of such incidents over the past few days. Here are some of the more  concerning calls.

WGNS has decided not to use the names of those involved, because they are having enough problems without have more. Our news department feels it is important for the public to be aware of these cases, in the event similar situations arise with friends or family members.

Wants Divorce

A 29-year old Rutherford Boulevard woman told police that she fled her home after her husband chased her with a butcher knife. This was moments after he asked for a divorce. She ran to her car and drove to a nearby grocery where she called police. They investigated her claims, talked with the 32-year old male and found the butcher knife that allegedly was used. The husband was then booked at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on charges of aggravated domestic assault. While being booked, the man threatened suicide, and was placed under a special watch.

Vehicle Allegedly Rammed

Police were called to Jackson Street where a woman's ex-boyfriend got into a verbal disagreement. It reportedly escalated and she reportedly loaded her children into the car and attempted to leave. The 32-year old woman said the 34-year old male then rammed her vehicle. Due to lack of physical evidence, coupled with conflicting stories, Murfreesboro Police did not make any arrests. Instead, they informed both parties how to obtain warrants.

Vandalism Threat

A Rockvale resident told police that she and her boyfriend got into an argument, and the female decided to leave her home and go to her sister's on Mercury Boulevard for safety. While at the relative's residence  the  male reportedly phoned and the conversation was placed on the speaker phone. Several persons told police that they heard the 30-year old male said that the girlfriend needed to return to their Windrow Road home in ten minutes and see what he had done. She told officers that she took the threat seriously and was concerned for her safety. There was no probable cause to make an arrest, and police gave the woman a copy of Domestic Violence Rights.
