The Murfreesboro City Council voted on Monday morning to ban the use of fireworks in the city limits due to dry weather conditions. This will not impact the City of Murfreesboro’s “Celebration Under the Stars”, the annual professional fireworks display still on track for July 4 from 5 to 9:30 p.m. That event will be held at McKnight Park located near Sports*Com on Memorial Boulevard. . Again, the individual use of fireworks in Murfreesboro has been banned.
The City of Smyrna also banned fireworks on Monday. Smyrna will hold a firework show on Tuesday night at 9 at the Lee Victory Park on Sam Ridley Parkway.
Rutherford County has not banned fireworks usage as of Monday morning.
