Katherine McCroskey loves her neighborhood and when she sets her mind to something, this woman never gives up. It took her years of volunteer work, but McCroskey was determined to get sidwalks along Halls Hill Pike in front of the Daniel McKee School. Over the years, more than a dozen pedestrians, many being children, were killed by speeding motorists. She never gave-up and now the sidewalks are a reality and the road is widened. Her next vision calls for a community center. Volunteers like Katherine McCroskey are rare and very much appreciated.
