The Rutherford County Assessor of Property's office has reached an agreement on the land value of the Middle Point Landfill. It's $2.3-million more than an administrative law judge decreed last spring.

Back in May, a state judge rejected the value given by this county's property assessor and placed the landfill at $8.2-million. The new agreement that was reached on Thursday (9/6/2012) puts the value at $10.5-million. That's $2.3-million more than that decreed by the administrative judge. 

Another challenge for that office comes from the state.  Newly elected Assessor of Property Rob Mitchell was notified that Rutherford County is now over three months behind in property assessments. Mitchell reportedly is working closely with his staff to resolve this problem.
