Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Team overtakes the old Murfreesboro Police Department for Training

UPDATED: A small, but well-orchestrated team of Tennessee Army National Guardsmen quietly met behind the Murfreesboro City Hall on Tuesday (8/18/2020) and Thursday (8/20/2020) for a hands-on training event.

That was Army Lt. Col. Bobby Rominger who is oversaw the training on Tuesday and Thursday for the 45th (TN) Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Team.

The training took place in what was once home to the Murfreesboro Police Department on South Church Street. Rominger explained the ficticious scenerio that the special unit investigated...



The specialized team is based in Smyrna at the National Guard base. They focus on everything from terrorist plots that invlove chemical weapons to chemical spills at large factories...



The Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Team has a response time of 60 to 90-minutes, depending on what part of the state they are called to. That response time includes the team gathering tools, computers, specialized vehicles and more.  The team is on call 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.
