The police were met by two females who told them that they believed their 22-year old friend had been raped by Neziri, who was also at the house. Officers then talked to the alleged victim who appeared to be heavily intoxicated. Prior to police arriving, she evidently told dispatchers on the phone that she had been raped.

The attention was then turned to the suspect, who denied having any sexual relations with the 22-year old woman. However, another subject inside the house said that the victim and Neziri went into a bedroom at the residence for 5 to 10-minutes and later returned to the party.

The reported victim who lives in Murfreesboro was transported to the hospital. She told detectives that she was merely an acquaintance of Neziri.

The Special Victims Unit took over the case and gathered multiple statements from those at the party on the night of the reported incident. They also obtained information from the hospital after the victim was transported on May 3, 2020. The evidence was presented to a Rutherford County Grand Jury which led to the aggravated rape charge being filed against Neziri.

Neziri was released on a $90,000 bond October 27, 2020.
