Previously, victims had to go to court each year to renew their order of protection.  Documents for the new lifetime order of protection are available here (scroll down to TCA 36-3-627).

The bill that made the lifetime order of protection possible was sponsored by Senator Mike Bell and Representative William Lamberth.
