A Lebanon, Tennessee man has been arrested after allegedly raping a woman after police say he picked the victim up while posing as a rideshare driver. The arrest came after a citizen’s tip led to the identification of Randall C. Johnson as the man who is accused of kidnapping the female on May 24th. Authorities say the woman mistakenly got into the 49-year-old's pickup truck in downtown Nashville thinking it was a rideshare vehicle. She was driven to a remote area where she was sexually assaulted, according to detectives.

The victim and a male acquaintance left a downtown bar at 2:45 a.m.. They got into a black 4-door Chevrolet pickup truck with multiple Harley Davidson insignia's, including a front vanity plate thinking it was a rideshare. Johnson, of Lebanon, TN., allegedly drove them to a short-term rental on 9th Avenue North. The male exited the truck and was attempting to assist the victim from the vehicle when Johnson sped off with the woman still in the pickup. She reported being driven to a field some thirty minutes away where she was sexually assaulted before being taken back to Nashville and dropped off.

The investigation, led by Detective Amery Milligan, resulted in Johnson’s arrest on Monday (10/04/2021) on a grand jury indictment charging him with aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated assault.
