On Monday, the debate over the construction of the new Islamic mosque was tense. The plaintiff’s attorney for those against the mosque actually compared the county’s attorney to Moammar Gadhafi. The plaintiffs attorney argued that the county failed to consider if the mosque was a training ground for terrorist when allowing for the building permit to be approved. The attorney also argued that emails surrounding the mosque’s approval were not properly released. Despite the arguments, Chancellor Bob Corlew did not delay the construction process of the new Islamic Center of Murfreesboro.
