The City of Murfreesboro Planning Commission adopted a comprehensive plan, Murfreesboro 2035, in 2017. The Plan sets forth a 20-year vision for growth and development and establishes a guide for policy, program, and project initiatives.

The purpose of the Future Land Use Map is to inform development decisions, to ensure the efficient use of land to accommodate growth and development; to minimize opportunities for incompatible land uses; and to efficiently coordinate land use and infrastructure needs.

The informational meeting will include a brief presentation at 5 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in a come and go format, with information stations and staff available to answer any questions concerning the Future Land Use Map Update.

All interested business owners, developers, and citizens are encouraged to attend.

The plan elements include major functions of the City, including transportation, land use, housing and neighborhoods, parks and recreation, public facilities, historic preservation, and economic development with a focus on population growth and infrastructure.
