Mon. (Sept. 12, 19 and 26, 2022) 9:00 - 11::45AM (with optional lunch after that) ADVENTURES IN LEARNING at First United Methodist Church (265 W. Thompson Ln.). This is the 32nd year of this educational program for seniors. It features a variety of topics of interest. Registration is $16 and open through Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Classes will be filled on a first come, first-served basis as space is limited. Optional lunch will be $12.00/per day.
Classes include: Public Education, The Courts and the U. S. Constitution with HON. J. S. (Steve) Daniel, Tennessee Circuit and Senior Judge, Retired and former law professor
September 12: Public Education from the writing of the U. S. Constitution through the decision in Plessy v. Ferguson (1896)
September 19: Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka Kansas (1954) and the cases that led to that decision
September 26: Post Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka Kansas, What Happened in America
