For anyone that has driven down West Main Street in Murfreesboro during the afternoon hours, you have probably seen the long line of people in front of the Providence Community Corrections probation office. Although the company is a nationwide corporation, the office off the local square serves mainly misdemeanor offenders in Rutherford County.
On Thursday afternoon, more commotion than usual could be seen in and around the office. Apparently a bomb threat was called into the business. Authorities searched the building, but turned up empty handed.
The question police are trying to answer at this point is...Who called in the threat and was it someone who was currently on probation? Murfreesboro Police hope to have that question answered in the near future and may soon supply the probation office with a new client.
