Spring Arrives Wednesday, Along With Road Construction

This coming Wednesday ushers-in spring time, and along with that an increase in road projects. City Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran warns motorists of potential local challenges now through March 23rd.

City Construction Projects

Bradyville Pike Road Survey Work (between Broad Street and Rutherford Blvd)

Expected No Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Surveying crews will be working along Bradyville Pike between Broad Street and Rutherford Blvd. There will be no lane closures. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Murfreesboro Water & Sewer Project (S Baird Lane between E Main Street and E Castle Street)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday - Friday: 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM: The contractor for the Water and Sewer Department will be replacing sanitary sewer pipe on S Baird Lane (north to south) between E Main Street and E Castle Street. S Baird Lane will be closed to through traffic. Driveway access to local residents will be kept open at all times. Appropriate traffic controlswill be in place.

Central Valley Road (between George Washington Blvd and Ticonderoga Ave)

Expected Lane Closures: Tuesday, 8:30 am to 1:00 pm: City Urban Environmental Department crews will be removing a tree on Central Valley Road. The section on Central Valley Road between George Washington Blvd and Ticonderoga Ave will be closed. Traffic will be detoured onto George Washington Blvd and Ticonderoga Ave. Access to local residents on Central Valley Road will be kept open at all times. Proper traffic controls will be in place.

Middle Tennessee Blvd (between Main Street and Mercury Blvd)

Medical Center Pkwy (between Gateway Blvd and Thompson Lane)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday & Thursday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for City Urban Environmental Department will be mulching on Middle Tennessee Blvd on Wednesday and Medical Center Pkwy on Thursday. There will be moving lane closures and traffic interruptions on Middle Tennessee Blvd and Medical Center Pkwy. Proper traffic controls will be in place.
