The Tennessee House has passed a bill that would criminalize key fob simulation. The legislation is aimed at reducing car thefts. State Representative Torrey Harris of Memphis sponsored the bill that was put to a vote on Monday… The bill passed the house.

The Senate version of the bill is also moving forward this week. If both versions of the bill receive final approval from the governor, then possession of any tool capable of programming a smart key for a vehicle would be a misdemeanor offense.
