Gunshots ring out in quiet Blackman neighborhood, bullet strikes bedroom window

Mar 25, 2013 at 04:55 pm by Bryan Barrett

Shots were fired in a neighborhood behind Blackman Elementary School this past weekend. The shooting was reported on Axelwood Drive.  Three neighbors told police they heard up to five shots being fired. One neighbor said a window to their child’s room was hit by a bullet.

Murfreesboro Police photographed the window at the scene of the incident and documented that the bullet went through a wall, a door and came to a rest after striking a child’s winter cap. Luckily, no one was injured in the shooting.

One resident told authorities she heard the gunshots at about the same time an unknown car drove by. By the time police got there, the car was gone. A special watch has been placed on the neighborhood.
