RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol will sponsor a sobriety checkpoint from 10 p.m. to midnight this Friday at 550 S. Rutherford Blvd. in Murfreesboro.
According to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, state troopers and other law enforcement officers from the Rutherford County Traffic Safety Task Force will participate in the event Friday. The checkpoint will kick off the Labor Day holiday weekend while encouraging drivers to refrain from drinking and driving.
Drivers who drink are asked to plan ahead by getting a designated driver or getting a ride share home.
The upcoming checkpoint is part of the Tennessee Highway Safety Office’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.
