It's no secret;  polen, budget balancing, road projects and traffic james are in the air--it's spring! City Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran shows potential challenges now through this coming Saturday (4/27/13).

City Construction Projects

Bradyville Pike Road Survey Work (between Broad Street and Rutherford Blvd)

Expected No Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM:  Surveying crews will be working along Bradyville Pike between Broad Street and Rutherford Blvd.  There will be no lane closures.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Murfreesboro Water & Sewer Project (S Baird Lane between E Main Street and E Castle Street)

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday - Friday:  8:30 AM to 2:30 PM:  The contractor for the Water and Sewer Department will be replacing sanitary sewer pipe on S Baird Lane (north to south) between E Main Street and E Castle Street.  S Baird Lane will be closed to through traffic.  Crews will also be replacing a 2” water main along Tyne Ave.  There will be traffic interruptions and lane closures on Tyne Ave.  Driveway access to local residents will be kept open at all times.  Appropriate traffic controlswill be in place.

N Thompson Lane at Sulphur Springs Road Intersection Improvement Project

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm:  Contractor for City of Murfreesboro will bemaking intersection improvements at N Thompson Lane and Sulphur Springs Road.  The work entails turn lane improvements and signalization work at this location.  There will be minor traffic interruptions and lane closureson Sulphur Springs Road.  Proper traffic controls will be in place.

Medical Center Pkwy (between Gateway Blvd and I-24)

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm:  Contractor for Murfreesboro Electric Department will be performing electrical maintenance work on Medical Center Pkwy between Gateway Blvd and I-24.  There will be moving lane closures and traffic interruptions on Medical Center Pkwy.  Proper traffic controls will be in place.

S Rutherford Blvd at Chandler Pl Intersection Improvement Project

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm:  Contractor for a private development across from Chandler Pl will bemaking intersection improvements on S Rutherford Blvd at Chandler Pl.  The work entails turn lane improvement work at this location.  There will be traffic interruptions and lane closureson S Rutherford Blvd.  Proper traffic controls will be in place.

Medical Center Pkwy (between NW Broad Street and I-24)

Expected Lane Closures:  Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm:  Contractor for City Urban Environmental Department will be mulching on Medical Center Pkwy between NW Broad Street and I-24.  There will be moving lane closures and traffic interruptions on Medical Center Pkwy.  Proper traffic controls will be in place.

Comcast Overhead Fiber Installation Project

1)       Medical Center Pkwy between Memorial Blvd and NW Broad St - Monday

2)       NW Broad St between Medical Center Pkwy and Hamilton Dr – Tuesday

3)       Hamilton Dr between Nw Broad St and W College St - Tuesday

4)       W College St between Hamilton Dr and Dashiel St - Tuesday

5)       Dashiel St between W College St and Scott St - Tuesday

6)       Scott St between Dashiel St and Ridgely Rd - Wednesday

7)       Ridgely Rd between Scott St and NW Broad St - Wednesday

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Wednesday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm:  Contractor for Comcast new fiber optic cable on Medical Center Pkwy, NW Broad St, Hamilton Dr, W College, Dashiel St, Scott St and Ridgely Rd.  There will be moving lane closures and traffic interruptions.  Proper traffic controls will be in place.

N Thompson Lane Re-paving Project (between NW Broad Street and Memorial Blvd)

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Thursday, 8:00 pm to 5:00 am:  Contractor for Tennessee Department of Transportation will be lowering existing castings and concrete work on N Thompson Lane between NW Broad St and Memorial Blvd.  All work will be done at night.  There will be traffic interruptions and lane closures.  Proper traffic controls will be in place.
