Both City and County Schools CLOSED Thursday, Plus, Information on RCS' Director of School's Son

BULLETIN: Both Rutherford County and Murfreesboro City Schools are closed Thursday (5/9/2024) due to flooding as well as power outages at some schools. The Murfreesboro City School's ESP Program will be open, using the "inclement weather" policy.

RCS Communications Director James Evans said, "We have several flooding issues and several areas without electricity and several trees down that will impact buses. This is mainly in the Eagleville and Christiana areas."

Evans also said, "Our Director of School’s son was involved in an accident during the storm. We ask that you please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers."

The child is in the fourth grade and is in stable but critical condition at Vanderbilt Hospital. 

Evans concluded, "We apologize for any inconvenience this closure causes your family, but unfortunately it is unavoidable."

Again, all Rutherford County Schools as well as all Murfreesboro City Schools will be closed Thursday (City's ESP open using "inclement weather" policy.
