Blackman Sweeps Riverdale on the Road, plus all local Friday scores

A crowd of around two-thousand saw another classic matchup between state powers Blackman and Riverdale. The Lady Blaze took complete control of the District 7-AAA race with a 58-49 win over the Lady Warriors. Riverdale led at home 17-8 after the first quarter of play, but fought back to take the lead just before half. Blackman outscored the Lady Warriors by nine in the third quarter to take a lead they wouldn't give up. They also forced Riverdale into 17 turnovers in the game. With the win, Blackman improves to 23-1, 10-0 in the district while Riverdale falls to 8-2 in the district, 19-5 overall.

GIRLS GAME PODCAST (Jon Dinkins & Bryan Barrett)

The boys game led off the doubleheader and Blackman's Andrew Rogan put on a show. He scored 45 points in the Blaze 85-46 win over Riverdale. He was a one-man show, hitting five threes in the game. He had 21 points in the first half and 24 in the second. The Blaze improve to 8-2 in the district, 18-4 overall. The Warriors fall to 14-11 and 3-6 in District 7-AAA play.
