Bullet enters bedroom of sleeping resident in Murfreesboro

A "Shots Fired" call was reported at University Ridge apartments on South Rutherford Boulevard in Murfreesboro this past Sunday morning at 5. An off-duty officer working security actually heard the shot near the 1100 building.

When the officer went to located where the shot hit, it was confirmed that in went into the bedroom window of a sleeping resident. The bullet then traveled into a shower wall and into another bedroom where the resident's roommate was located. The bullet came to rest next to a closet.

The good news, no one was struck by the bullet. The bad news, no arrests were made and it is not known who fired the random shot.
