Comorbidity and COVID-19 in Rutherford County and Far Beyond

As the COVID-19 virus spreads, it is key to remember that certain groups of people are more susceptible to the lethal side of the virus. Specifically, those with co-morbid conditions.

Comorbidity is the simultaneous presence of two chronic diseases or conditions in a patient.

Local doctor Dan Rudd said that the current Coronavirus is not necessarily a huge problem for most people, but it is a lethal problem for the elderly and those with co-morbid medical conditions.

Dr. Rudd is part of Rudd Medical Services that oversee healthcare in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center in Murfreesboro.
