The cost of mailing a letter has gone up again. It will now be 46 cents to mail a first class letter.
As of Sunday, the U.S. Postal Service’s latest rate hike on first class postage stamps went into effect. This increase comes at a time when fewer people are using the U.S. Postal Service. The rate increase is expected to be worth nearly a billion dollars for the Postal Service, which lost more than $5 billion last year.
In addition to the price of a stamp going up 1 cent, sending a postcard now will cost people 33 cents. That is also a 1-penny increase.
