Members of the local Democratic Party have announced that they will be at the Rutherford County courthouse 11:30 this coming Friday morning to discuss the Republican's health care bill.

In a press release from Rutherford County Democratic Party's Matt Ferry, "(The event will) highlight the ramifications of Republican health care bill, or AHCA, for all Tennesseans, and the lack of availability, accountability and transparency from our US Senators, Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker."

He notes that speakers will discuss the devastating implications of the Republican healthcare plan, or AHCA, passed by the US House of Representatives, and the decisions that will be made by the Tennessee legislature if the bill passes the senate.

The Democratic Party's press release says that AHCA will allow states to grant waivers to insurers to allow them to charge more for people with pre-existing conditions. States would also be able to grant waivers to exempt insurers from providing the 10 minimum essential benefits, which includes coverage for substance abuse treatment programs.
