Duo Face Drug Charges After Stopped for Stolen Vehicle

Two Murfreesboro women are behind bars after being stopped by local police in an alleged stolen vehicle.

Thirty-eight year old Virginia Padgett of Factory Road was in the car at the Select Inn on South Church Street when Officer Valerio Henriquez discovered it was stolen during a routine patrol check. Forty-two year old Tonya Rucker of Joe B. Jackson Highway was also in the vehicle.

A search of the belongings of the women turned up drug paraphernalia, baggies with a white crystal substance weighing a quarter of a gram and Xanax pills. In the vehicle were multiple small baggies, a grinder, safe and AR magazine with 12 nine-millimeter rounds.

Both women are facing charges of possession of a schedule two drug with intent and possession of a schedule four drug. Padgett faces an additional charge of theft for the vehicle. Rucker was found to have a small baggie of apparent drugs on her when booked. So, she also faces a count of introducing contraband into a penal institution.

Both will be in court October 25th.
