GOOD NEWS: Fewer kids are part of the Summer Feeding Program in Tennessee

As the number of American children in federal summer meal programs is on the rise overall, the opposite is true in Tennessee. The Volunteer State was one of 19 states where there was a decline in participation between 2012 and 2013. Here in Rutherford County and the city of Murfreesboro, the Summer Feeding Program continues. In fact, we were told earlier this summer that the program is going strong in our community.
