(MURFREESBORO)  Two persons died in a multi-vehicle crash that occurred at 7:57 Friday (6/26/2020) night on I-24 eastbound (milemarker 84, toward Chattanooga), near the Joe B. Jackson Parkway exit. Eastbound traffic had to be detoured onto highway 41 South (Manchester Highway).  

In the I-24 crash, in addition to the fatalities, two additional persons suffered injuries. 

Earlier Motorcycle Fatality

Approximately two-hours prior to the I-24 accident, another crash took the life of one person. That one was a motorcycle vs pickup truck accident on the Old Woodbury Pike and Murfreesboro Street.

The Rutherford County Sheriffs Office along with Rutherford County Fire Rescue assisted in both fatal crashes. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation. Murfreesboro Fire Rescue did the extrication with the I-24 accident.
