MTSU Summer Commencement Was A VIRTUAL Success!

(MURFREESBORO)  2020 is a "virtual year", and MTSU Saturday commencement of 804 non-attending graduates became a part of the "new norm". The high-tech walk started 10:00 o'clock sharp, with just as much pomp and circumstance as a non-virtual event. Check it online at http://mtsu.edu/virtual-graduation

Congratulations to these soon-to-become BLUE RAIDER ALUMNI. This class is made-up of 577 undergraduates and 227 graduate students. In the graduate category, 204 are receiving their master's degrees, 11 are education specialists, and there will be 12 doctoral candidates. Five students will receive graduate certificates for their advanced study.

MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee and University Provost Mark Byrnes spoke briefly to the graduates, and then special guest speaker, MTSU Faculty Senate President Justin Gardner, an associate professor in the School of Agriculture, shared his and his colleagues’ good wishes for their departing students.  

A running on-screen scroll included all the summer graduates’ names, and any special honors, during the ceremony.
