Dec 15, 2020 at 11:59 am by WGNS

Murfreesboro City Schools transitioned to asynchronous learning days Monday, December 14th and will remain on the new schedule through Friday, December 18th.

Asynchronous learning means that instruction does not have to occur at the same time and allows parents and students flexibility in the school day.

Assignments for the week are being sent home with students, as of Friday, December 11th. Work was also made available for parent pick-up this past Monday, December 14th.

Student attendance will be taken daily by Class Dojo or another form of teacher communication.  The Murfreesboro Extended School Program (ESP) will remain open from 6 a.m. through 6 p.m. daily.

Breakfast and lunch will continue to be available at all schools for parent pick up from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. Monday-Wednesday.  Meals for Thursday and Friday will be available with the Wednesday pick up.  The Chow Bus will run a condensed route to 14 locations.

This decision was made due to the rising numbers of COVID quarantines in our district.

Murfreesboro City Schools will be closed for Winter Break on Monday, December 21st through Friday, January 1, 2021. Teachers return to class on Monday, January 4th and students return to class on Tuesday, January 5th.
