Is there a Cap on Residential Development in Murfreesboro due to Treated Discharge Water?

As Murfreesboro continues to grow in leaps and bounds, it equals concern over water and sewer capacity. But, the real issue is the discharge of treated water, as explained by Mayor Shane McFarland…

This discharge related issue is what limits the development of high-density housing and more. The city sometimes has to make sure a developer can utilize re-purified water for things like irrigation, in order to properly offset the water that is treated by the wastewater plant. The city cannot put too much of the treated water into the river, which flows into J. Percy Priest Lake.
