That was Paul Highfill with KidLink Community Services, an organization that works to place foster children in local homes.

There are multiple reasons for children to be placed into the state’s foster care system…

KidLink is contracted with the Department of Children Services to provide not only foster care placement, but also therapy for the children and hands on help with new foster parents.

The Tennessee Department of Children's Services reports, "Foster parents provide nurturing and supportive homes in which the children’s emotional, physical and social needs can be met, while issues and concerns in the immediate family can be addressed." DCS strivres to keep children in a family setting and to keep siblings together.

If you feel as if you could provide a foster child a home and show that child what family means, then Highfill encourages you to call 877-714-1313. Again, there are at least 4,000 children in our area who are in need of a loving home.
