Update: You have just one more month to paint your bowl for the 2021 Cookin' to Build. Bowl painting ends on October 15th.

The 14th Annual COOKIN' TO BUILD offers all you can eat home-made soups, stews and chili around the historic Rutherford County Courthouse and 100% of proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity. The annual event will be on Saturday, November 6, 2021.

One of the traditions of COOKIN' TO BUILD is to paint your own bowl, which will eventually be filled with the soup or stew of your choice on November 6th. Painting your own bowl further helps the local non-profit.

Volunteer Coordinator Megan Hutchings told WGNS NEWS that bowls can be painted at the Murfreesboro Pottery Place (scroll down for more details)...

Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit housing organization that uses volunteers to build homes and give communities hope.  Using volunteer labor, in-kind donations, discounted materials and tax-deductible donations, Habitat works in partnership with people in need to build simple decent homes sold at no profit and no interest.

You can help the non-profit by painting your own bowl NOW through October 15, 2021 at either Murfreesboro Pottery Place Location (The Avenue, or next to Sprouts off Memorial).

Groups can paint Monday - Thursday but please call ahead to make reservations.

You can also paint from home. The cost is $5 per bowl (plus tax) and includes 3 colors (additional colors are $1 each), and you'll purchase your $20 event ticket at the same time.
