2020 U.S. Census Numbers Show Rutherford County has Just Under 350,000 Residents

New U.S. Census numbers are in and it looks as if Rutherford County has just under 342-thousand residents.

County Commission District 20 had the highest rate of growth of any district in the state, according to Election Administrator Alan Farley.

Population Count for each city within Rutherford County, TN:

Murfreesboro, TN 152,769 Residents
Smyrna, TN 53,070 Residents
LaVergne, TN 38,719 Residents
Eagleville, TN 813 Residents

Once the areas outside of each city are factored into the count, the population of Rutherford County officially stands 341,486 residents.

Rutherford County is at the epicenter of the most rapid population expansion and related demand for necessary services in the history of the state, according to property assessor Rob Mitchell. “We must be prepared to adapt and adopt new processes which streamline operations and expand services to our citizens,” Mitchell said on Friday.

Three of the twenty largest cities in the Volunteer State are in Rutherford County, as seen in the below list.
