Special Veterans Ceremony in downtown Murfreesboro, Lunch for Veterans and More

Veterans Day takes place this Thursday and WGNS will broadcast a special Salute to Veterans from the downtown Murfreesboro square at 11AM.

Bradley Academy Museum and Cultural Center will be hosting a Drive Thru Luncheon for veterans on Thursday. The event will be from 11AM to 1PM. Veterans can pick-up a special gift bag on this Appreciation Day at the downtown museum, which is at 415 S. Academy Street.

The USS John C. Stennis is the seventh Nimitz-class nuclear-powered supercarrier in the United States Navy, named for Senator John C. Stennis of Mississippi. The ship was commissioned in December of 1995.

Veterans Day is an official U.S. holiday which honors men and women who have served in the armed forces during all wars.  It is a federal holiday that is observed each year in the U.S on Nov. 11. Veterans Day is the anniversary of the signing of the armistice, which ended World War I hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany in 1918.
