Investigation into Rutherford County Sheriff is "Active and Ongoing," According to the TBI

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed with WGNS on Monday that they still have an "Active and Ongoing" investigation into Rutherford County Sheriff Robert Arnold. The TBI also suggested that at this point, no charges have been filed in that case.

WGNS' Scott Walker spoke to Rutherford County Mayor Ernest Burgess on Wednesday about the investigation into the Sheriff.

As previously reported, the investigation into the Sheriff is believed to partially involve the Sheriff's Office selling electronic cigarettes to inmates with a no-bid contract through JailCigs. The JailCigs company is co-owned by Arnold's uncle and aunt and Chief of Administration Joe Russell. However, both the TBI and FBI are tight lipped on the details of their investigation.
