Man accused of trying to cash a fake check

A 49-year old Manchester man is facing multiple charges after being arrested in Murfreesboro on Wednesday afternoon. Harold Charles, who goes by the nickname of Hal, is accused of trying to cash a fake check. The check added up to over $1,600.

Charles allegedly went to Pinnacle Bank on Memorial Boulevard to cash the check. Murfreesboro Detectives caught wind of the situation and placed Charles in handcuffs and transported him to the local jail.

Charles was charged with theft over $1,000, forgery over $1,000 and criminal simulation. He will appear in court this January.
