Murfreesboro Mayoral candidate Shane McFarland has announced the addition of Kristin Demos as his campaign manager. Demos, the Marketing Director for the Demos Family Restaurants, worked with McFarland on his City Council Campaign.

“I learned a tremendous amount about our community when I worked with Shane on his campaign for City Council,” Demos said. “When he asked me to come on board for the mayoral race, I jumped at the opportunity.”

The two-term Murfreesboro City Council member has cited small business development, improving quality of life, attracting more white and blue collar companies and making city government more responsive to the needs of the citizens as his top goals as Murfreesboro’s mayor.

“Economic development has gotten so competitive," McFarland said. "For Murfreesboro to compete in the current economic climate, we have to be aggressive, creative and thoughtful. I am a husband, father to three young boys and a small-business owner. I am personally committed to making Murfreesboro a business-friendly city, the benefits of which are good, quality job creation and lower taxes.”

Demos said she feels extremely confident in Shane's vision of Murfreesboro’s future.

“Shane is not only raising his family here, but he also operates a small business within our community,” Demos said. “And as a member of a family-owned and operated business in Murfreesboro, I truly feel that Shane has his finger on the pulse of the community. Because of his involvement as Murfreesboro City Councilman, he has unique insight and ability to anticipate what this city’s needs will be based on growth patterns.”
