An armed robbery that took place around 6:00 Monday night is being investigated by Murfreesboro Police. The theft happened in a small alley between two homes on East Street near Greenland Drive.

The victim told officers that as she was walking to a friend's house, a gold car (possibly a Toyota or Nissan) pulled up to her and one of two masked occupants jumped out of the car while demanding money. The victim said the black male who got out of the car was armed with a handgun that appeared to have a silencer on the end of it.

The 26 year old victim handed over her purse and cellphone and then the subjects drove away. As of Tuesday, they have not been apprehended.
