Mother Killed Labor Day Morning In E. Main St. Crash

There was a fatal accident near MTSU that occurred around 9:15 Labor Day morning (9/5/2016). The two-vehicle crash happened in the 2600 block East Main Street, that going away from town and several blocks past Rutherford Boulevard.

A woman was killed and five others were rushed to the Emergency Room at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. One of the injured was an infant girl who was restrained in a child's safety seat. She suffered broken legs and a broken arm.

Officials say that the mother of the baby died at the scene.


Family members are asking questions as to "what happened", since this was on Labor Day and there was hardly any traffic.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol assisted Murfreesboro Police with the deadly investigation.
