A 29-year old Murfreesboro man has been arrested on kidnapping charges after allegedly forcing a 20-year old woman into a shed behind the Murfreesboro Little Theater.

James Elliot Beard told the female, whom he has a relationship with - that if she told her mother where he had her, he would shoot her. Beard, according to a police report, acted as if he had a gun. The 20-year old victim texted her mom without Beard knowing and told her that she was in danger and that Beard was drunk.

At one point the victim took off running towards Cross Court Apartments. Beard allegedly caught her grabbing her by the neck and escorting her into the wooded area next to the small apartment complex.

Murfreesboro Police Officers observed the text sent to the mom and quietly moved in to find the female. Thanks to the text police located the two in a small shed behind the Murfreesboro Little Theater and apprehended Beard.

Beard, who lives on Givan Court, was charged with Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Domestic Assault, Preventing a Call to 911 and served a local Violation of Probation Warrant. The man will appear in court in February of 2016.
