Murfreesboro resident Jacob Pearman admits to police that he murdered wife Carla

Following up on a domestic violence related murder that took place early Thursday (2/14/13) morning in 

Murfreesboro... We have learned that Carla Dillard Pearman (pictured) and Jacob Pearman were just married this past November.  31-year old Jacob Pearman allegedly murdered his wife in their Blackman home sometime before 3, Thursday morning.

Suspect Jacob Pearman was taken into custody in Manchester after fleeing Rutherford County in his wife’s Jeep Wrangler. Pearman was arrested at a gas station at Exit 111 in Coffee County. His wife, Carla Pearman was dead when police arrived at 3:24, Thursday morning.

Major Clyde Adkison told WGNS News the incident took place at 839 Kanatak Lane in Blackman.

At some point on Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, the 28-year old suspect reportedly called or texted his parents with what has been described as a troubling message. Major Adkison stated in a press release, “our 911” communications center received a phone call from the parents of the suspect stating that their son was possibly contemplating suicide.” Authorities paid a visit to the home to do a welfare check and found Pearman's wife Carla deceased in her bed, Jacob Pearman was gone.

Pearman was later taken into custody in Manchester after fleeing Rutherford County in his wife’s Jeep Wrangler. Pearman was arrested at a gas station at Exit 111 in Coffee County.

The "official" cause of her death has not been released by police.

It is believed that Pearman was scheduled to be in court this week to answer to domestic violence related charges against the 31-year old victims’ son.  Jacob Pearman worked in Murfreesboro as a personal trainer.  He is a body builder. Pearman has been charged with first degree murder. Police say he has confessed to the murder of his wife.  A preliminary hearing will take place in a Rutherford County courtroom next week.

The Murfreesboro Police Department released
the following statement just before 2 P.M. on Thursday afternoon:

At approximately 3:21 A.M. our “911” communications center received a phone call from the parents of the suspect stating that their son was possibly contemplating suicide.

Police Officers arrived at 839 Kanatak Lane at approximately 3:24 A.M. and discovered the female victim, Mrs. Carla Pearman (DOB 11/14/82) was found deceased in the bedroom of her house.

At approximately 5:50 A.M. the suspect was located and apprehended in Manchester. The alleged suspect is Mr. Jacob Pearman (DOB 09/02/82) Mrs. Carla Pearman’s husband.  M.P.D. detectives went to Manchester and transported Mr. Pearman back to Murfreesboro.

He has been charged with first degree murder. During his interview, he did confess to the detectives. He has been transported to the Rutherford County jail where he is being held without bond. His preliminary hearing will be sometime next week.

The Criminal Investigations Division is still investigating this homicide.
