Murfreesboro Police have arrested a 35-year old Nashville man on several felony drug charges. Officer Tchezaray Major reports Johnathan Dwayne Wright of Bell Forest Circle in Nashville was pulled over for a traffic violation Friday afternoon around 4:50.

Officer Major says Wright appeared to be nervous and he knew the man had prior drug charges for possessing large amounts of narcotics. When the officer asked to search the vehicle, his request was denied by Wright. That's when the K-9 unit was called.

In the meantime, when asked to exit the vehicle, the officer noticed a meth pipe. Plus, dispatch informed him that Wright had an active warrant for violation of parole. That gave him probable cause to search the vehicle without K-9's help.

Officer Major reports finding multiple bags with large amounts of methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana and small amounts of Diazepam, Xanax and Hydrocodone pills. Two marijuana joints were also reportedly recovered in a cigarette box. The officer says the field weight of the meth came up to approximately 3.2 ounces, the heroin weighed about four grams and the marijuana about seven grams.

Wright was taken to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center and held without bond on felony parole violation, felony possession of schedule one, four and six drugs and three felony counts of possession of a schedule two drug. He will be in court October 6th to answer to the drug charges.
