Never Try To "Flee On Foot"

Feb 16, 2018 at 03:19 pm by Bryan Barrett

It's not wise to flee from the law, especially when you don't have a car.

Around 11:00 o'clock Friday (2/16/2018) morning, the Tennessee Highway Patrol attempted to stop a suspect who was allegedly attempting to steal a vehicle.

The reason other law enforcement showed up is simple, Murfreesboro Police Officer Amy Norville stated, "THP called for assistance with the apprehension of a car theft suspect."

The male fled on foot, but the long arm of the law called for assistance from fellow officers. The runner ended-up in the Oaks Shopping Center where Ross, Sport Seasons, Stein Mart, Carrabba's and more are located.

Within moments, the area around Medical Center Parkway and Thompson Lane was alive with blue lights and sirens. The man who ran, was surrounded by two Tennessee Highway Patrol cruisers, two units from the Rutherford County Sheriffs Office and four Murfreesboro Police vehicles.

After Friday morning's of excitement, the suspect is resting in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
