Oakland's OKTOBERFEST Set for September 24th

Oaklands Historic House Museum at 900 N. Maney Avenue is hosting its second-annual Oktoberfest on Saturday evening, September 24th from 5:00 to 9:00.

Educational Director Mary Beth Nevills noted, "This fun-raiser will feature many local craft brewers such as The Brewsters, Panther Creek Brews, Mayday Brewery, Good People Brewery, Lagunitas, Devils Backbone, and the MidState Brew Crew. There will also be a few of Murfreesboro's best craft brew retailers present such as The Green Dragon Public House, Deep South Growlers, and The Boro Bar & Grill."

She said that the list is still growing.

Come and enjoy energetic live music and some delicious treats from local food trucks and restaurants.

Event Chair Bill Jakes said, "This year we're offering more food vendors and restaurants in addition to the awesome local brewers and craft brew retailers of Murfreesboro. There are also some amazing bands lined up to perform!"

Oaklands Mansion is nestled in Oaklands Park, a native tree arboretum and natural wetlands, which includes Maney Spring as well as heritage and native gardens. Oaklands Mansion is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00AM - 4:00PM and Sundays 1:00PM - 4:00PM. Tours begin on the hour and a short video is offered on the half hour.
