Overall Creek Gets a Dairy Cow (at least for a few hours)

It is all about the cow... and milk of course.

A Mobile Dairy Classroom was at Overall Creek Elementary School on Wednesday morning (April 3) in Murfreesboro. The traveling milking station, complete with a cow, is a 30-45 minute learning session for students.

Dairy Education and Promotion covers a broad spectrum, ranging from nutrition for good health, safety in production and processing, as well as the conservation and preservation of our environment. The Southwest Dairy Museum and Southwest Dairy Farmers recognize the need to address these issues in depth and that education promotes informed choices.

Lisa Trail, spokesperson for the Murfreesboro Schools said in an email, "This portable classroom is another example of STEM in action."
